Giovanni's 1-month checkup!

Giovanni at 1 month old

Giovanni went to see the doctor for his one-month checkup in the afternoon. Lukie was napping while we were gone (Grandma was watching him).

Gio is growing very well.
Weight was 10 pounds and 1 ounce, in the 50th percentile. He gained about 3 pounds from his birth weight.
Length was 22.25 inches, in the 75th percentile. He grew about 2 inches in one month.
Head circumference was 15 inches, in the 50th percentile, up by 2 inches.

Mommy got a close up shot.

The doctor asked about how Gio sleeps as well as his eating pattern. I feed Gio every 2 and 1/2 or 3 hours. He seems to be on a regular schedule of waking up for feeding. He takes about 1.5 ounces or sometimes 2 ounces.

Gio sleeps a lot during the daytime. He gained about 2 ounces a day during his first month. He sleeps pretty long at night, between 4 and 5 hours. The doctor said that is okay for him because he east enough during the day. So I don't have to wake him up at night.

Milestones

-Moving his two hands very fast and starting to kick.

-Smiles sometimes while laying on his back.
