What a busy day!

Today has been a very busy day for both Lukie and Gio. Lukie had his first day at a Montessori school. Gio had his 2-years-old checkup at the pediatrician. I started the day with breakfast for both of them. It was hard for Lukie to sit down and eat first thing in the morning. Gio was easier. I got them dressed and we headed off to school. It took us about 20 minutes to get there. Lukie was so excited and very happy with the welcome from his teachers and friends. I wish Charlie was there with us. Too bad I couldn't stay with Luke. The teacher said she would call if Lukie wanted to see me before the pickup time. I gave her Charlie's cell number but she never called. lukie did great today.

After saying goobye to Luke, I drove to the doctor's office for Gio's well check. I got there with plenty of time to spare so I went to a nearby carwash. After that I took Gio to the park for about 20 minutes. He had fun running and climbing. It was a little too windy for us, though. Then we went to the doctor's office.

Gio's checkup went well. He was ahead on his vaccines so he didn't need any shots today. Lucky boy.

We stopped at Panera for lunch to go. I got some kid mac and cheese for Lukie and a grilled cheese sandwich for Gio and me. Gio ate his sandwich while I drove to pick up Lukie at school.

When we got to the school, Lukie's class came out to the playground. I saw Lukie running and looking very happy. A moment later the teacher came and said that he was a delight and they were very happy to have him there. I'm happy that Lukie likes the school and seems to be adapting well.

Lukie didn't want to eat the mac and cheese or grilled cheese. He asked fro chicken nuggets instead. I stopped at Burger King for chicken nuggets and Lukie ate them. He shared one with Gio, who had almost finished his grilled cheese. I took Lukie to his Pre-K for afternoon class. He seemed a little tired but he said he wanted to go.

I dropped Lukie off and drove back home so Gio could nap. I got some time to use the bathroom and get myself a real lunch. I didn't even have breakfast this morning.

At 2:30 p.m. I woke up Gio and took him with me to pick up Lukie. On the way home, Lukie said he just wanted to finish his chore (emptying the little garbage pails into the big one) and relax by playing Nintendo DS. I laughed because he had such a busy day. I let him do as he asked.

Love to see both of my sons grow and very thankful to be able to have every day with them.

Mommy loves you guys so much.

Gio turns 2!

Birthday's Boy.

A spider chocolate cake layered with butter Natala chocolate frosting. Daddy and Mommy made for you.

Tried his birth day cup cake.

Gio's birthday cup cakes for Lukie's friends at the Pre-K class.

Taking turn putting sprinklers.

Yesterday, January 26, 2012, was Giovanni's second Birthday.

I didn't do much for his real birthday because we are going to have a little party for him tomorrow (Saturday). Grandma and Grandpa will come join us and help eat Gio's birthday cake.

I made little cup cakes for Gio's birthday and gave them to Lukie to bring to his class. Gio fell asleep while I drove Lukie to school so he didn't have the chance to blow out his candles in the class with all the kids. Too bad.

Gio is a very happy kid. He sings all day long, different nursery rhymes like "London Bridge is Falling Down," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "ABC Song," "Puff the Magic Dragon," "This Old Man," "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," I'm a Little Teapot," "Old McDonald" and a lot of Thai songs.

Gio is eating well with his solid and mushy food (jar foods). He loves watermelon, all berries, yogurt, rice, chicken, grilled pork and California rolls.

Right now he is very interested in shapes and colors, and toys that let him work with his hands like picture puzzles and gears. He like Legos and Trios. He cans sit down and play by himself for a long time.

With his curly hair, he always says, "Brush my hair, brush my hair!" (copying Mei from My Neighbor Totoro) but when I brush his hair he says, "Ooh...all done," and runs away.

Mommy wishes you have the best years to come and a very happy birthday. Stay healthy and grow strong. Love you very much.

Proud Mama!

Mommy's big boy.

It has been one month today since I started having Lukie take some responsibility around the house. I'm trying to teach him to put his dinner plate or his cup in the sink every when he's finished and he does this most of the time.

On Christmas Charlie gave Lukie his wish. It was a new Nintendo 3DS with a game. He loves it so much that he wants to play it every day. Personally, I don't want him to play it at all. I don't like to deal with his crankiness after it's time to stop playing the game. I would rather him use his imagination or make me busy in the kitchen than playing Nintendo DS.

I made a rule. I told Lukie if he wants to play the game from now on he has to help me with the household chores. I will only let him play Nintendo after he finishes his adding exercises and empties all the bathroom waste baskets (there are two bathrooms) and the waste basket by the computer desk.

The first week I had to remind him to do it when he asked me if he could play Nintendo. Some days, when he wanted to play the game he would ask me if he has to throw the garbage and I would say yes.

Lukie checks the waste baskets every day now, sometimes before he wants to play the game but sometimes he checks them and empties them for me before breakfast time.

Love your kiss very much.

I'm very proud that Lukie knows his responsibility and does not hesitate to do it.

Mommy is very proud of you, baby. I love you

Lukie's school

Lukie's first school picture 2011 Pre-k

Over the past two weeks we shopped around for the school Lukie will attend next year. First we checked out a Montessori School. Lukie was very impressed by the environment and toys there. Two of his friends from Pre-k are already attending this school. In order for Lukie to attend the next Kindergarten year, he has to complete a half-year of the Pre-K program, which means he would have to enroll soon. One student just moved up so there is a space available for Lukie. Charlie and I want him to give it a try. He seemed to like it very much. The next day he said, "I want to go to Montessori school." If we enroll him, he'll start the first week of February.

Lukie in his Pre-k class at reading with parents time.

We also visited a Catholic school. We met the principle and talked. I was very impressed by the students in this school. Two of them gave us a tour of the facilities. Charlie and I both liked this school.

I didn't know that my son was a magician at school.

I'm so glad that Lukie is excited about going to a new school and is not afraid. He loves his Pre-k class teachers and friends. I enjoy reading a book to the class once in a while. I like to see my son with his friends. These pictures were taken by the teacher. It's fun for me to see what Luke is doing when I'm not around.

Lukie's school year since September has been great for him. Love to see him grow.

Lukie and Gio's bedroom make over!

Luke The help.

Lukie gave mommy a fake smile and promised that he was not going to make a mess.

Daddy started to paint mommy's old bedroom. Yai-Yai moved her stuffed out just so that Lukie and Gio could sleep in there whenever they are ready. We went to the hardware store in town to buy the paint. Lukie picked light blue for the walls. Daddy painted for two weekends. He did such a good jop on the walls and ceiling. Papa Jim helped by painting the closet. When the door and the closet doors are done we will try to arrange the bed and furniture.

Lukie wanted to paint but he had to wait for Daddy to set up.

Daddy goes for it first.

Hopefully, the bedroom will be done soon so Lukie and Gio can have their toys in there. Now we are looking for bedsheets for the little guys.
Start Date painting : January, 7 2012
Finished painting : January, 15 2012
Paint name : Natura
