Lukie at Grandpa and Grandma's house before school opened.
Gio had fun at Grandpa and Grandma's house.
Since school began for Lukie, it has been very busy for all of us in the family. I haven't had a chance to update my blog for almost half a year. Thank goodness my kids were healthy the whole summer long. School opened the second week of September and Lukie stayed healthy until December. The busy routine made me fall asleep with the kids at night sometimes. Some nights I stayed up late to bake snacks for Lukie's school I didn't mind doing it because I love baking.

October, the month of our favorite customs
Lukie and Gio had so much fun trick-or-treating this year. It was a little scary for Lukie because we had a bad storm called Sandy. It caused a lot of damage in the city and some other places. We didn't have cable or telephone service for three days but we were lucky to have electricity. Some towns nearby had to cancel trick-or-treating. I took Lukie and Gio to Sag Harbor, which was still flooded in parts. Some stores were not ready for trick-or-treating. Lukie and Gio still got a lot of candy from some generous merchants. Gio picked only lollipops. I also took Lukie and Gio to trick-or-treat at my friend's house in Water Mill. The kids had so much fun that Gio asked me to take him trick-or-treating again the next day.
Gio also had a lot of fun at Lukie's play.

November: Thanksgiving and Lukie's school events.
I started working weekends at Williams-Sonoma. The kids stay with Charlie during the weekends. We had Eddie and Kik, Johnny, Shannon and Sadie come to visit for Thanksgiving in Sag Harbor. The kids had a lot of fun together, especially Lukie and Sadie. They played very nicely together. Lukie was so happy to have Sadie stay over and play all day and almost all night.
Before Thanksgiving, Lukie was in a play at school. Charlie, Gio and I went to see the performance. Every time I see Lukie performing with his schoolmates I feel so profound and tears are in my eyes. I'm so proud of him.
Busy opening all the presents.
Santa came late this year but still gave awesome gifts to Lukie and Gio.
Lukie and Gio were so happy and had so much fun with their presents.
December, the month of happiness and the busiest month.
I'm sure December is the busiest month for everyone. The first week of the month I had to bake for school. Our whole family had pink eye for two weeks. Gio and Lukie were sick before that. I still worked during the weekend, came home and baked rainbow cookies for Lukie's classmates and teachers at school. Charlie also took some to his friends at work, and we sent some to Jimmy's brother and sisters with our Christmas card. We headed to New Jersey on Christmas Eve. Lukie was counting the days until Christmas Even since Thanksgiving. We stayed at a motel in New Jersey for four nights. Lukie and Gio got to see Santa at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Lukie was very happy that he got the only thing he asked for from Santa: Paper Mario Sticker Star. Gio had lots of fun opening presents. Thanks to Grandma, Grandpa and uncles for the wonderful gifts.
New Year is coming in two days. I wish everyone the best health and good luck.
Happy Holidays, everyone.
