Lukie 5 years old check up

Lukie had a wellness check up one week after he turned five. Papa Jim and Gio came with us to the doctor's office. Papa watched Gio but of course Gio was calling for me after five minutes. The doctor let him play with the toys in the waiting area just outside the examination room.
The check up went well. Lukie got three shots. He cried as usual. He's still afraid of needles.
The doctor asked a lot of questions. He asked if Luke could tell him his home address or phone number. Luke knew the address but couldn't remember the phone number. The doctor suggested it is very important for kids nowadays to remember their phone number in case they get lost. We are working on this now. The doctor also asked about Luke's behavior and how I discipline him when he misbehaves. He asked if I speak Thai with Lukie. I said that I try my best. He said it's a good thing for kids to learn two languages at a young age and I should not give up.

A special note from Lukie one day before Mother's Day 2012!

Lukie had very good conversation with the Doctor when he asked him question. I love Lukie that he is not shine in some way like talking or asking another people questions when he doesn't know things. Lukie did well with answering question Doctor asked him.
About Lukie's development

Lukie played soccer from July 10 - Aug 2

Lukie's first day at soccer class.

Another mom told me about a soccer program for children this summer. I asked Lukie if he would like to try it. He said yes because some of his friends were in the program. The program was run by the coach at the local high school. There were teams for kids of different ages. Lukie was in the 4-6 age group. This was his first time playing soccer. He was excited and couldn't wait to try it. Fortunately, none of the soccer days was too hot and it only rained once. Papa Jim came along and helped watch Gio for me. The program was on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. First, I thought it would be difficult breaking our routine and having dinner later than usual. Surprisingly, the kids weren't cranky. They have so much energy.

Met new friends at the soccer class.

Learned so fast and he likes the game a lot.

Mr. Gio always came with Mommy and Luke.

Warm-up session.

Daddy came and helped play with Gio every Thursday whiled mommy helped coach Luke.

Great kicking, just look at his face!

Lukie turned 5 and his birthday

Luke's favorites character, Super Mario

July 27,2012,was Luke's fifth birthday. Luke decided to have his birthday party in New Jersey with Grandpa and Grandma and his cousin Sadie. So we drove to New Jersey on Friday morning. The kids had just bagels and milk in the car and no one complained. We got to Grandpa's house a little after 12:00 p.m. Luke was so happy that his cousin Sadie was already there. They played together right away.

I'm five now!!

Most of the presents were sent to New Jersey. Johnny and Shannon got to the house on Thursday night. We had planned to leave Sag Harbor on Thursday night too but because of the big storm warning we decided to wait until Friday morning.

Luke with all his favorite friends and family.

Not long after we got there Luke wanted to swim. After he swam with Sadie the two girls from next door came and swam with them and they had so much fun.

A strong hit from Lukie, LOL

Candy time for everyone.

Mario pinata after it had been hit more than 100 times...still looked pretty good.

Luke had a snack and then blew out the candles on his cake. After that, he had a surprise: a Mario pinata for his birthday. Even Luke's cake had a Mario design. The cake-maker did a wonderful job. It was such a cute ice cream cake and Lukie asked grandma not to cut Mario. Gio didn't care about the pinata. He was too busy climbing the ladder and jumping in the pool over and over again. He did stop for a moment to watch Lukie and friends hitting the pinata.

Mr.Gio loved diving.

Luke had a  very delightful birthday party with all his loved ones. I let him play and eat dinner late and he had so much fun opening his birthday presents. I did not even know that he opened the presents from every one already until he came upstairs with all the presents that I had just express-wrapped in the bedroom.

Special thanks for special people :
