Tomorrow Lukie is going to be 10 months old. Last week, I took Lukie to get his Polio shot from Dr. Notterman. I was concerned but she explained to me that when he is a year old he will have to get a lot of shots so it is better for him to get the Polio shot now.
Lukie was crying right when we opened the door to the doctor's office. He remembers the clinic atmosphere. The nurses couldn't weigh him on the infant scale. I had to hold him and stand on the adult scale. His weight was about 18 pounds.
I'm always worried about his weight because he is not gaining much at all. He is not eating well. I talked to my friend and the doctor and they both say it is okay for kids at this age not to have much of an appetite. Well, I'm trying to change my attitude about Lukie eating and let it be.
Lukie's Food
Lukie doesn't want to eat baby jar food anymore. He likes to eat table food now, whatever mommy and daddy are eating.
New foods that Lukie eats: olives, grilled cheese, cheesy pastina, broccoli pizza, jasmine rice, grilled chicken, salmon, flounder, broccoli, sweet potato, toast.
Fruit: fresh blueberries, raspberries, grapes, apple, pear, cherries, banana (not too ripe).
Staples: Cheerios, crackers, mommy's milk.
Tried but didn't care for: yogurt, yogurt drinks, baby cereal bars, baby cookies, pancakes, scrambled eggs, linguine alfredo.
Lukie's Milestones
Lukie will point at a familiar object such as an airplane in the sky when I ask him where it is. Same for a familiar person. He can push an object while crawling or walking. He can use do the "pincer grab" (pick up an object between his thumb and index finger). He can feed himself. He can call "dada" and "mama" more clearly than before and will try to imitate sentences (in baby language).
Lukie's Growth
I didn't take Lukie's measurements this month. I will wait until he's 12 months. Let's see how far he can go. At last check (9 months, 2 days), he was 28.25 inches tall and 18 pounds.
